Cricket Australia (CA) is determined to vaccinate their leading cricketers by next month as they are set to tour Bangladesh, which could limit the participation of some Australian players in the inaugural season of The Hundred.
Australia announced a preliminary squad of 23 players for their white-ball tour of the West Indies on Monday, and they are in discussion with Bangladesh officials about flying there directly from the Caribbean for more limited-overs matches against Bangladesh in preparation for the T20 World Cup.

Officials anticipate quarantine and bio-security conditions for both tours, as well as upon their return to Australia, but they are also hopeful that their players will receive the COVID vaccine in the coming weeks, following the federal government's recent declaration.

"We're hopeful that the touring party that travels to the West Indies is vaccinated, but that's something we're working through logistically now with the relevant people," said Ben Oliver.
"We'll have our plans in place for both scenarios, but that's our hope. We've been very consistent in saying that we're not seeking preferential treatment for cricket. We're certainly not wanting to be a burden on the public system and have worked in conjunction with the government to understand the various regulations and policies and how we can best plan around that." He added.
The inclusion of a Bangladesh tour could cause problems for the seven Australians who have signed up to play in The Hundred. Glenn Maxwell, David Warner, Aaron Finch, Marcus Stoinis, Adam Zampa, D'Arcy Short and Jhye Richardson all were named in the squad for the Windies tour on Monday.
