Before joining the bio-bubble protection for the home ODI series against Sri Lanka, all Bangladesh cricketers and team management tested negative for Covid-19.


Dr Debashish Chowdhury, the chief physician of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, told the media that all members of the team had tested negative. and will have to pass a second test before being allowed in the bio-secured bubble in the team hotel Tuesday.

“Samples of members of both the Bangladesh team and touring Sri Lanka team were collected Sunday. All have tested Covid-19 negative. (Monday) we collected samples for the second round of tests. Only those who are negative in both the tests will be allowed to enter the bio-bubble in the hotel. We will collect samples from Sri Lanka team members for the second test (Tuesday),” said Dr Debashish to the media Monday.

Dr Debashish further informed that the two teams will undergo a third test a day ahead of the first ODI of the series.


The three-match ODI series between Sri Lanka and hosts Bangladesh is scheduled to begin next Sunday [23 May].
