Shakib tests second Covid-19 negative

Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan returned to the country on Thursday after the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) got suspended due to corona. Shakib tested negative for Covid test for the second time, confirmed by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) physician Manjurul Hossain.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) physician Manjurul Hossain confirmed the matter to Cricfrenzy. He said “He has tested negative in two consecutive tests. Samples of the second test were taken after receiving the results of the first test yesterday. The result came negative today.”
Shakib returned negative in his first Covid-19 test on Saturday. There was no existence of corona in his samples, his result was negative. However, in the next few days, Shakib will be tested a few more times.

Shakib was roped by Kolkata Knight Riders for this season. His teammates Varun Chakraborty and Sandeep Warrier contracted coronavirus then New Zealand cricketer Tim Sheifert also became corona positive.
Shakib arrived in the country last Thursday via a chartered flight after the suspension of IPL, which was arranged by their respective franchises Kolkata Knight Riders.
Bangladesh's first match is against Sri Lanka on 23 May. As a result, they will get the opportunity to practice for only two days. The Sri Lankan cricket team is coming to Bangladesh on May 16 to play three ODIs. After the first ODI on 23 May, the second and third ODI will be on 25 and 26 May.
