Bangladesh duo Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman have returned home at 3:45 pm on Thursday by the same flight after the indefinite suspension of Indian Premier League (IPL).
Their respective franchises in Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders have shared the costs of charter flights to fly the players to Bangladesh from Ahmadabad .
While international flight resumed on May 1 in Bangladesh, no passengers are yet allowed from India due to the Covid-19 escalation in the neighbouring country. However, a special charter flight arranged for Shakib and Fizz after getting special approval from competent authority.

According to the previous plan, Shakib and Mustafiz were scheduled to return to Bangladesh from the IPL on May 19 to play a three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka at home. However, as the IPL was suspended indefinitely, they returned to the country ahead of schedule.
