Bangladesh head coach Russell Domingo said on Thursday [April 28] that his side aims to win the series by winning the second and final Test against Sri Lanka.
“Of course we want to win the series. It will be a great achievement for us. We know we have to put up much better performance. Sri Lanka are tough opponents at home. However, we are focusing on one session at a time. So the goal is to win the series on foreign soil.” Domingo said
The Bangladesh coach is not breathing sigh of relief after the first Test draw. He wants to see Test winning mentality in the team and also sees opportunities for improvement.

“See the frustration comes when a draw test is seen as a huge success by others. We don't want to lose the test. But this mentality must be changed. We have to play to win the Test. See I got 6-8 Test matches. I think now I understand everyone in the team, I understand the culture of the team. I am thinking about where to improve, how to improve the mentality to do well in the test.”
“I think we have a lot of time in our hands. We don't have much success in Tests, so we are afraid of losing the games. That needs to be changed. We have to change the mindset to improve our game. That will change when we start winning Tests. I want to make sure the team moves forward. ”Domingo added
However, there was a high chance to replace opener Saif Hassan in the playing XI as he was failed in the first Test in both innings (0,1). But the head coach confirmed he will get another chance in the Test team.
“I want to give him [Saif] more opportunities. It is very difficult to open in the Test. Many openers take time to get into the team and adjust to their place. So I want to give him a chance. Moreover, the right-left combination will be good in the beginning. So, yes Saif will play”
