The first Test between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka was drawn at Pallekele. Mominul Haque, the Test captain, was satisfied with the results and believes it is better to be able to draw the Test by playing in Sri Lankan conditions.
Bangladesh was whitewashed by the West Indies in a two-match Test series at home. The Tigers made a comeback in this game. The batsmen, in particular, were outstanding, with Nazmul Hossain Shanto regaining his form. In both innings, Tamim Iqbal scored runs.

Captain Mominul made his first away hundred. Taskin Ahmed bowled brilliantly on slow wickets which led Bangladesh secure points in the ICC Test Championship.
“It was a good wicket for batting. The bowlers didn’t have much to do. I think it’s better to accept (the draw). It has been good to have a draw. It was difficult for the bowlers. The bowlers tried even though it was batting friendly wicket. I think everyone has tried best,” he said
“After losing the series at home, I think being able to draw a Test abroad is a good thing. The second test (this result) will definitely build confidence in everyone. Everyone played as a team. Bangladesh is in a good position whenever they can play as a team.” He added
