Pakistan captain Babar Azam became the fastest batsman to cross 2000 runs in T20I history, broke the record held by India captain Virat Kohli.
The Pakistan skipper achieved the milestone in 52 innings whereas Kohli had scored his first 2000 runs in T20s within 56 innings.

Aaron Finch, the Australian captain, scored 2000 runs in 62 innings is now at number three. Four and five are both from New Zealand. They are Brendon McCullum and Martin Guptill. McCullum took 66 innings to complete two 2000 runs. Martin, who is in the top five, played 58 innings.
The 26-year-old Babar averages nearly 50 per innings in his T20I career with an improving strike-rate. Since the start of 2018, Babar Azam’s career T20I strike-rate has gone near the 140-mark, a significant shift from his initial days when it hovered around the 130.
Recently, Babar Azam has moved to the second spot in the ICC T20I rankings. Last week, Azam toppled Indian captain Virat Kohli to become the top-ranked ODI batsman in the world. Azam now sits on top of ICC's ODI batsman rankings with 865 points and Kohli is number 2 with 857 points.
