Bangladesh have secured the first World Test Championship point as the opening Test has drawn between hosts Sri Lanka and the visitors at Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium, Kandy.
Bangladesh have scored 100 runs for 2 wickets in their second innings, however, the game was stopped due to rain. They were still 7 runs behind Sri Lanka at the end of the game.
Tamim made his second half-century of the match of just 56 balls, he remained unbeaten on 74 runs and on the other side Mominul Haque unbeaten on 23 runs.
Last innings hero Najmul Hossain Shanto was bowled for a naught by Suranga Lakmal. He also returned opener Saif Hassan for 1 run, the batsman was caught behind by the wicket-keeper.
Sri Lanka declared their innings at 648 for eight after the first session, Lankans got a lead of 107 runs in the first innings.
Tailenders Suranga Lakmal remained not out for 22 runs, then Pathum Nissanka (12), Niroshan Dickwella (31) and de Silva (43) returned at regular intervals.

Bangladesh bowlers Taskin Ahmed took three wickets, Taijul got a couple of wickets while Mehedi Hasan Miraz and Ebadot Hossain got one wicket each.

Taskin Ahmed made a break-through for the visitors as he returned both the overnight players. He bowled Dhananjaya de Silva early who scored 166 runs from 291 deliveries with 22 boundaries.
In the next over, Dimuth Karunaratne had to return scoring 244 runs off 437 balls with 26 boundaries, he has been at the crease for more than 11 hours.
The 33-year-old left-hander scored his maiden double hundred as Sri Lanka batted through the day four without losing any wicket in reply to Bangladesh's 541 run in the first innings.
The Sri Lankan captain ended the fourth day on 234 while middle order batsman Dhananjaya de Silva scored 154 as they reached 512 for three at stumps.
The pair added 345 runs for the fourth wicket, the highest-run partnership at Pallekele for any wicket. The previous best was by Australia's Mike Hussey and Shaun Marsh, who made 258 runs for the fourth wicket in 2011.
Earlier, Bangladesh posted 541 runs in their first innings as Mominul and Najmul Hossain Shanto put on 242 runs of partnership for the third wicket. Nazmul Hossain Shanto struck 163 and captain Mominul Haque made 127 during their first innings.
