A groundsman was tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday (April 23) at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium during the ongoing Test between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Prasanna Rodrigo, media manager of SLC, confirmed to Cricbuzz."A temporary worker, who reported to work, was found positive during regular testings we do before they enter the venue. Once he was found positive, he along with nine of his first contacts were sent to follow regular health protocols,''

The groundsman who tested positive was put in isolation, along with nine other people who had close contact with him.
The series against Sri Lanka was originally scheduled for July last year but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The second Test of the series was decided to be played at the same venue.
