Bangladesh team played a two dayer warm-up match among themselves as preparation ahead of the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka at Chilaw Marians Cricket Club Ground, Katuanayake. The batsmen and bowlers of the red team showed their dominance with both bat and ball throughout the two-day preparation match.


In response of 314 runs by the red team, the innings of green team stopped at only 225 runs. Liton Das who batted for the second time made a half-century. On the other hand, Mehedi Hasan Miraz took 3 wickets for the red team.


Liton left the field voluntarily with 27 runs. The right-handed batsman returned to the crease and scored 64 runs. Test captain Mominul was out for a naught, however he batted for second time and scored 48 runs.

Apart from these two, no one has been able to put up good score. Yasir Ali Rabbi, who came down to play in the middle order, returned with 15 runs.

Besides, Mohammad Mithun scored 28 runs and Shoriful Islam was unbeaten on 20 runs. Taijul Islam and Abu Zayed Rahi took one wicket each and Miraz bagged 3 wickets.


Earlier, the top-order four-batsman of the red team made half-centuries; at the end of the day the red team collected 314 runs for 6 wickets. Tamim Iqbal, Saif Hassan, Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Mushfiqur Rahim scored half centuries for the team.
