Bangladesh team is currently in Sri Lanka to play a two-match Test series as the Tigers got the opportunity to practice today [Thursday] after three days of quarantine. Opening batsman Saif Hassan urged Bangladesh batsmen to put up a good total if they want to do well in Tests. He believes that if the batsmen are able to score big runs, it would benefit the side.

Sri Lanka has always been competitive for the opponents with their spin-attack. In a video message from Sri Lanka, Saif advised the batsmen to make big runs. He said, “Whoever gets the chance in the team, they will have to play big innings here. If we manage to put up a good score then it will benefit the team.”

Bangladesh will have the opportunity to practice for 6 days in Sri Lanka. The cricketers have played two rounds of National Cricket League (NCL). In addition, a number of High Performance Unit cricketers have played against Ireland 'A' team, who are currently in the squad including Saif.

“I had good preparations during the West Indies series. I had done well against Ireland Wolves. The NCL was a good preparation too for the team. Hopefully, those performances will reflect in the Sri Lanka series,” said Saif.

“Of course, scoring runs stimulate a lot of confidence. Batting preparation, fitness, everything has always been good. Although, I didn’t play in the West Indies series. But I still had good practice sessions as long as I was with the team. I’ll try to make proper use of my preparation and confidence.”
