The national team's cricketers received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine at Kurmitola General Hospital on Saturday [April 10]. In addition to the 21-member of the preliminary squad for the Sri Lanka Tour, a few others were vaccinated for coronavirus.

In February, the cricketers took the first round of vaccine before the New Zealand Tour. After receiving the second dose of the vaccine, speed-star Taskin Ahmed expressed his gratitude towards the  Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and urged everyone to be cautious.

“Today we took the second dose of the vaccine. Thanks to the Hon'ble Prime Minister for giving us such an opportunity. If you have the opportunity to get vaccinated... If we are not aware of ourselves, this situation will continue to get worse day by day. Be aware of yourself and save the country,” said Taskin.

“Of course I am proud to be vaccinated. As I said, thanks to the Bangladesh Cricket Board and Hon'ble Prime Minister for providing such opportunities. The second dose has been completed before we go on another tour.” He added.

Bangladesh will depart on April 14 to play a two-match Test series. The Tigers will then play a two-day warm-up match on April 17 and 18 at the end of the quarantine. The first test will start on April 21, the second will be on April 29.
