SLC announces itinerary for Bangladesh’s full-fledged tour

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced 21-member preliminary squad on Friday through a press release for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka. New faces in the team are Shoriful Islam and Mukidul Islam Mugdho and Shohidul Islam.
As the players didn't have enough red-ball practice, the players of the preliminary squad will play an intra-squad match and after that, the final squad will be announced then.
Another fast bowler Khaled Ahmed has returned to the Bangladesh Test team after a long absence. He last played in white jersey against New Zealand in Hamilton in 2019.
Middle order batsman Yasir Ali Rabbi is also in the team. He is not a new face in the Test team. He was called up to the team several times before but did not called up to play.
Shuvagata Hom returned after a long time, he played his last Test against England in 2016. After that he has not seen the national team.

Earlier, Shakib Al Hasan has opted out of the tour to take part in the Indian Premier League (IPL). As a result, BCB has announced the team without him.
Left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman was also left out of the squad. The BCB has also allowed him to play in the IPL as he is not in the Test team's plans.
Mominul Haque-led side will play a two-match Test series against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka that is scheduled to begin on April 21.
