Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) selector Habibul Bashar stated that the cricketers have to be in quarantine for only three days for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka. Bangladesh journey of Sri Lanka for two-match Test series is going to begin from April 21.
Each country has different health regulations, in most cases, cricketers have to stay in quarantine for one or two weeks. The Bangladesh team recently visited New Zealand and quarantined for two weeks. However, the suffering of the Bangladesh cricketers has been reduced during the tour of Sri Lanka.
“We have to be in quarantine for three days in Sri Lanka. Not a 14-day quarantine, we had in New Zealand. It’s not like that it takes two days to go to Sri Lanka. It takes very little time to board and there are also short quarantine deadlines. In case of emergency, we can take players within 3-4 days in advance” selector Bashar told the media.

Bangladesh national cricket team management will sit for a meeting Tuesday to set the course for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka for two Tests, and also the squad. He also confirmed that wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim will join the squad recovering injury.

“We are planning to announce the Test squad for the Sri Lanka tour in the next couple of days. However, we are not planning to have a bigger squad this time around in Sri Lanka as we picked for the New Zealand tour. We are confident Mushfiqur Rahim will recover ahead of the Sri Lanka tour after he got injured and was unable to take part in the T20 series in New Zealand,” he added.
The first Test is scheduled to start on April 21 and the second on April 29. Both the Tests will be played at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Kandy.
