Tamim Iqbal has been considered as one of the consistent batsmen of Bangladesh. Meanwhile, in an interview with an online sports platform 'Allrounder', the left-arm opener said that he would remove himself from one or two formats to prolong his career. Although he did not confirm when he would retire.
Tamim has been quite successful with the bat. Bangladesh has not yet found an alternative to this opener in all three formats.

"If I want to play international cricket for the next 4-5 years, I don't think I can play all three formats together. It is not possible. So I have to choose two formats which are more important to me.” Tamim said,

'Secondly, I have to choose two formats where I will be impactful for the team. It could happen now or it could be within 6 months from now. Maybe I will play only in one format,” he added.
Tamim has just returned after playing an ODI series against New Zealand. The opener has taken a leave of absence from the T20 series stating personal reasons.
