Liton becomes the seventh T20I captain in the history of Bangladesh

Liton Das has been named as the captain of the third and final match of the T20 series against New Zealand due to Mahmudullah Riyad's injury. Mahmudullah has been ruled out of the third T20 due to a thigh injury.

Liton became the seventh captain in the history of Bangladesh's T20 and the 18th captain in overall formats. Before Liton, Shahriar Nafees, Mohammad Ashraful, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Mahmudullah have led Bangladesh in T20 cricket so far.
Left-arm opener Nafees has captained the least number of matches, however, he was the first T20 captain. Mashrafe has led the most 28 matches, has won the most matches as a T20 captain for Bangladesh. He won 10 matches as captain before retiring from T20 against Sri Lanka in 2017.
Mushfiqur, who has led Bangladesh in 23 matches, has won 8 of 23 matches. Bangladesh has won 7 matches under Shakib who is in the top three. Ashraful, who led Bangladesh in 11 matches, has won only two matches.
