Ish Sodhi has sunk Bangladesh batting order as New Zealand beat Bangladesh by 66 runs in the opening match at Seddon Park, Hamilton Sunday of the three-match T20I series.
Bangladesh did not have a good start in response to a big run chase of 211. They lost the wicket of opener Liton Das by 20 runs of the team’s score. Skipper Tim Southee grabbed his wicket as he scored only 4 runs. Although Liton returned at the beginning, Naeem Sheikh was very smooth with the bat.
However, he had trapped in an lbw with the ball of Lockie Ferguson for 27 runs. Sodhi has returned the Soumya Sarkar (5) to a return catch. In the same over, the Kiwi spinner dismissed Mohammad Mithun for 4 runs. Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah Riyad sent off by Sodhi as his third victim.
Sheikh Mahedi became Sodhi’s fourth victim as he returned him for naught. Afif Hossain and Mohammad Saifuddin scored a 63 runs partnership in the seventh wicket, which only close the defeat gap.

Afif was bowled by Ferguson for 45 runs. Saifuddin was unbeaten for 34 runs. In addition to Sodhi's 4 wickets, Ferguson took 2 wickets and Tim Southee and Hamish Bennett took 1 wicket each for the Kiwis.
