Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal is set to miss the Twenty20 International series against hosts New Zealand. The left-handed batsman stated personal reasons to withdraw him from the series. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the matter in a press release on Saturday (March 27).
Tamim will return home on a Qatar Airways flight on Sunday. Unexpectedly, young pacer Hasan Mahmud will return home with him on the same day as he suffered a back injury after playing the first ODI. He could not practice with the team afterwards, his treatment will continue under the supervision of the medical department of the BCB.

Tamim's side failed to live up to their expectations against New Zealand as they were clean-sweeped by the New Zealand. Lost the first match in Dunedin due to batting failure, the team lost the second match in Christchurch due to poor fielding. The same old scenario was seen in the last ODI
Meanwhile, the three-match T20 series is starting from March 28. The remaining two matches will be played on March 30 and April 1.
