New discussions have aroused regarding the quarantine venue for the Bangladesh team. Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) has asked the Bangladesh team to stay out of Colombo for quarantine. However, Bangladesh wants that venue as there are better facilities. Akram Khan, chairman of the BCB's cricket operations committee, said Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is discussing the matter with SLC.

Bangladesh's tour of Sri Lanka was postponed last year due to disagreement between the two countries' cricket boards over the quarantine deadline. Although the two-match Test series is scheduled to start on April 21 this year, the quarantine issue is once again on the table of both cricket boards. However, the match schedule has been resolved, new discussions have been held on the venue of the quarantine.

"We are going to Sri Lanka, that’s final. We are leaving as soon as we return from New Zealand. Since they are the host, they will finalize the venue and everything in a few days. As far as we know, there will be two tests at the same venue. They will tell us about the venue. They (SLC) wants us to do quarantine out of Colombo. But we are trying to keep it in Colombo. Since there are good facilities. This too will be confirmed in two to three days” said Akram on Saturday.

BCB announces Bangladesh U-19 squad for Sri Lanka ODI series

Bangladesh will visit Sri Lanka on April 12 to play a two-match Test series. As it is a series during Corona period, both the matches will be played at the same venue. Although the final schedule has not been released, according to Akram, the first Test of the series could start on April 21, while the second and final Test will proceed from April 29.

"The host will make the final call, they will inform. We have heard about two dates, 21st and 29th. Venue and date are almost at the final stage, one or two days can be back and forth. They will announce the final date” he added.
