Veteran spinner Daniel Vettori has joined Bangladesh team practice session in Queenstown, New Zealand on Thursday. He refers spin attack plays a big part in white ball cricket and spinners can do well in New Zealand’s condition. Bangladesh players train as a team for first time in New Zealand after finishing 14 days compulsory quarantine period.
The Bangladesh spin bowling consultant commented on the performance of spinners in the recently closed T20 series between New Zealand and Australia. All three of the top five bowlers in the series were spinners. New Zealand spinner Ish Sodhi was the highest wicket-taker with 13 wickets in that series.
Vettori believes that Tiger spinners Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Nasum Ahmed will also be able to contribute to the team's performance on New Zealand soil.

“Spin is such an important part of white ball cricket as you can see how successful Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi have been in recent series against Australia. Even Ashton Agar and Adam Zampa all played their important role. With MIraz in particular, with his experience and his performance against the West Indies, he can bring a lot to the table for the team, backed by Mehedi and Nasum, they can also be part of the team and contribute to the team's performance” said Vettori.

Vettori is set to cut relation with Bangladesh with this series as the former left-arm spinner joined the team for the last time after a 100 days contract. However. he is very happy to join the team. He said it feels good to work with spinners in the net.
“Very happy to be back, especially in Queenstown with Bangladeshi boys it's exciting to see them run again after one year and above. It’s great to see all the familiar faces and feels great working with spinners on the net. After a very long time, any cricket, any outdoor activity feels good. New Zealand are very fortunate, that they have been able to continue the game and with the Bangladesh series will be continuation of that” he added.
