The Pakistan Cricket Board declared on Thursday that the 2021 edition of the Pakistan Super League in set to begin in early June, with all matches taking place in Karachi (March 11). In consultation with the franchises and the Governing Council, the PCB made the decision.
With Pakistan scheduled to play a series in South Africa in April, the board's only window of opportunity is June, as the men's national team will be departing for the England tour shortly after. It is yet to be assessed, however, how many of the foreign players will be available during that window.

"June emerged as the most preferred and practical window due to Pakistan men's national cricket team's international commitments in March/April and late August/September.
"The remaining 20 matches in June are now being planned following the men's national cricket team's return from Zimbabwe on 13 May and before their departure for England on 26 June.” PCB stated in a release on Thursday.
The tournament was postponed on March 4 due to an increase of Covid-19 positive cases among those associated with the event. Just 14 matches had been played up to that stage, and the remaining 20 will be played in June - the dates of which are still to be determined.
