SLC appoints Shanaka as T-20 skipper

Sri Lanka all-rounder Dasun Shanaka will lead the Sri Lankan cricket team in the upcoming T-20 series against the West Indies, he is also expected to captain the side in the T20 World Cup.
Two years ago, Sri Lanka won the series against Pakistan under the captaincy of Shanaka. The three-match T20 series against the West Indies will be Shanakar's first tour as a regular captain.

Srilanka Cricket (SLC) has already announced a 20-member squad for the upcoming ODI and T20 series. Experienced player Kusal Mendis and Isuru Udana were not considered for selections as they are injured. While Mendis is suffering a shoulder injury, Udana is down with a hamstring injury.
The newcomers in the side are Pathtum Nissanka, Kamindu Mendis, Ashen Bandara and Dilshan Madushanka.
