Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papon is annoyed over the poor performance of the Bangladesh team in the Test series against the West Indies. He has admitted that there are problems everywhere in the team plan of Bangladesh. He also questioned about having 5 pacer in the squad, still not playing them.
Despite having multiple pacers in the Test squad, Bangladesh have played only two pacers in two Tests. Mustafizur Rahman in the first Test and Abu Zayed Rahi was placed in the second Test. But the board president thinks that Bangladesh should move away from the plan of playing one fast bowler and so many spinners.

“I don't mind if I'm wrong, I can say wrong. One thing I observed is that spin wickets, spin wickets, spin wickets have started from the Afghanistan series. We had a time when we were fairly good in spin because we weren’t good in pace. We didn't have pace bowlers for the last three years and we have been constantly thinking about how to make pace friendly wickets. We have not improved much, but we have improved a lot in domestic cricket.” He said.

"As a result, if you look at our domestic cricket or the tournaments that we did, our fast bowlers bowled well. We have a lot of pacers now. With so many pacers, why I will not play a pacer. With 5 players [pacers], the place of all-rounders has been closed. We took 5 fast bowlers instead of and all-rounder but not playing them. So if you ask me about team selection I have nothing to say about it.”
The board president was silent even after the loss against Afghanistan. But this time he wants to solve this problem. “The solution is very simple. This cannot be allowed to continue. I didn't want to say much after the Afghanistan series but today [Sunday] I must say it should be changed.”
After the Dhaka Test loss, the BCB president said, “I need to know this. I admit that the problem is everywhere. After watching two Test match, I understood that there is a problem. I couldn't say anything after seeing one. It seemed to me that there was a lack in our planning. We have no doubt that our fast bowlers are better than the spinners. No doubt about that. We have few spinners. Let’s skip Shakib. Besides, how many spinners do we have? Two or three but we have a lot of good fast bowlers.”
