Bangladesh are in trouble after losing 4 wickets on the second day of the final Test. More 104 more runs are required to avoid follow-on with 6 wickets remaining. Apart from Mushfiqur Rahim and Mohammad Mithun, Tamim Iqbal also believes in others. However, at the end of the day, he blamed his team for standing in this position.

Starting the day with 233 runs for 5 wickets, West Indies were all out for 409 runs. After the tea break, Bangladesh lost 4 wickets to add 71 runs on the scoreboard. Tamim Iqbal got out after settling on the wicket scoring 44 runs. Mominul Haque also returned due to lack of patience.

In the absence of Shakib Al Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, who was called up for the Test, returned to the dressing room in the very first over. Then Nazmul Hossain Shanto also fell into the trap laid by Shannon Gabriel.

Mithun-Mushfiqur pair gave hope to Bangladesh as they made a partnership of 34 runs from 122 balls. Mominul’s team will enter the field on the third day with the aim of avoiding follow-on.

Bangladesh qualify for Women’s ODI World Cup

“You have to believe. Not that they never did. Liton has great ability. Mehidy played great in the first Test. It is our own fault for being in this situation. We could be in a better position if we didn't make those mistakes.” said Tamim.

Tamim has not seen any problem in the wicket yet. He admitted , in the first innings, when Bangladesh went down to bat, they had an impossibly good wicket. So the ODI captain sees the fault in batsmen, not in the wicket.

"The wicket was impossibly good. The wicket was still good when we started batting. Nothing like this was happening. I think the 4 wickets fell not for good ball or because of the wicket. The wickets fell due to the error of all four batsmen." Tamim added.

On the third day, Tamim is expecting a big pairing from Mushfiqur and Mithun. "If we had two wickets less today [Friday] and had this run, we would have been in a better place. Since 4 wickets have fallen, we have to say that they are at the top. But if we can put together a 100-150 run partnership tomorrow [Saturday], we can get back in the game.”
