Bangladesh opener Shadman Islam Anik has been ruled out of the second and final Test against the West Indies. After the departure of Shakib Al Hasan, he will also not be able to play in the Dhaka Test starting from February 11 at the Sher e Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has confirmed this news in a press conference. Shadman had been dropped out due to hip injury, incurred during an awkward fall while fielding on the Day 4 of the first Test match. However, the BCB medical team has suggested him to rest until he was fully fit.

Shadman has already left the biosecurity zone, he will be under the supervision of the BCB medical team as part of his rehabilitation. Shadman showed great patience in the first Test against the Windies. He played 154 balls in an innings of 59 runs. However, he could not take advantage of the bat in the second innings.

Incidentally, all-rounder Shakib has been already ruled out of the Dhaka Test due to groin injury. Instead, batsman Soumya Sarkar got a chance in the squad.
The second and final Test between Bangladesh and West Indies will commence on February 11. In the first Test, West Indies beat Bangladesh by 3 wickets with the help of extraordinary batting of Kyle Mayers 210* at Chattogram. West Indies are leading the series by 1-0.
