Bangladesh premier all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been ruled out from the final Test against the West Indies, starting from February 11. On the second day of the Chittagong Test, he suffered a fresh blow in his old groin injury. However, Bangladesh is not getting Shakib on the New Zealand tour either as he has removed himself from the upcoming tour to stay by the side of his wife during the birth of their child.
He sent an email to inform the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Akram Khan, chairman of the BCB's cricket operations committee, told the media on Monday.

“He has sent an e-mail and since he has to give time to his family, as he is having his third child. If all goes well with the grace of God, then he can stay with his family."

Despite receiving the letter, the BCB will take a decision about Shakib after discussing the matter with the board.
“We haven’t received any official letter from him regarding skipping the New Zealand tour. If he applies for it, we will certainly consider it but until that time we can’t say anything about his unavailability, “he further added.
New Zealand has postponed the series against Bangladesh for a week due to the Corona challenges and due to preparation of the visitors. According to the new schedule, the first ODI of the series will be held on March 20. The second match will be on March 23. The third and final ODI will be held on March 26. The three-match T20 series will start on March 28, 30 and the last T20 of the series will be on April 1.
