Premier all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan set to miss upcoming second Test of the two match series as he is suffering from a groin injury. This was confirmed to the media on Monday by the chief selector of the Bangladesh team Minhazul Abedin Nannu.
Shakib left the field on the second day of the first Test due to a groin injury. The all-rounder was not seen with the bat and ball in hand for second innings of the match. West Indies debutant Kyle Mayers has scripted a historical win for them as they won by 3 wickets and Shakib’s absence was key for their victory.

"Shakib will not play in the Dhaka Test due to injury. But since there is one Test left, and our squad is 16 members, at the moment we are not taking anyone from outside.” said Nannu.

In the sixth over of the first innings, Shakib felt pain when he was fielding a ball from Kraigg Brathwaite’s shot in his third over. Even after feeling the pain, he bowled 2 more overs. However, he left the field with 12 overs left in the day's play.
Earlier, Shakib suffered a groin injury while playing in the third ODI during the ongoing series.
That's why there were fears about his game in the first Test. Although he came on the field after recovering from injury. He played an innings of 68 runs. After such an innings, the old injury came up again.
