Bangladesh is set to return in red ball game for the first time after corona epidemic as host Bangladesh have already clinched the ODI series against West Indies. During the third ODI Ace all-rounder has picked up a groin cramp and left the field but He came back to net session on Saturday. Bangladesh head coach Russell Domingo is confident about his return in first Test.


All eyes were on Shakib as the southpaw appeared for the first time in an international match with the ODI series after completing his one-year ban imposed by International Cricket Council in October 2019. The premier all-rounder duly marked his international return with a majestic series as he was adjusted Man of the series with 113 runs and bagged 6 wickets in three ODI. Domingo is working with him officially for the first time with him during this series. He admitted Shakib’s importance in both batting and bowling department.

“Shakib is an important player for us with his batting and bowling. He is a world-class all-rounder who is very difficult to replace in any format. Preparations for him hasn’t been easy after picking up a groin niggle in the last ODI. He has gone through his rehab. He is still not 100 per cent but he has a day or so. We are pretty confident that he will be ready for the first Test. He has worked really hard on his rehab. He has bowled a few balls, hit a few balls. Not feeling too much discomfort, so we are confident that he will be ready to play.” head coach said in a virtual conference on Monday.
