Bangladesh star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has adjusted as player of the series after cleaning up West Indies 3-0 and winning the third match by 120 runs at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. However, Shakib Al Hasan left the field during the match for possible groin cramp.
Shakib back in action after a year ban imposed by ICC as he has scored 113 runs in three matches with an average of 56.5, while he took six wickets with the ball. He said he needed a match to bring back his confidence in the match presentation and thanked teammates and coaching stuff.
“I think lot of credit goes to the coaching staff and teammates for my successful comeback. Their backing and support helped me a lot, especially in the first game. I always knew that I needed some match time. After the first game, I got the confidence that I needed and as the series went on, I got better.” Shakib said after the match.

Along with Shakib’s masterclass, both seamers and spin attack was very delightful to watch and they helped to clinch the series easily. Shakib praised the bowlers and claimed Tigers have a good bowling setup now.

“Our fast bowlers and spinners complement each other. We have a good ODI bowling setup now. There is a lot of competition for spots and it's been healthy for us.” he added.
Shakib collapsed almost immediately in the follow through after delivering a ball in his 4.5 overs during the match and he was bendy in a lot of pain. He got up for a moment but is sitting down on the ground again. He was holding on to his groin and the physio came to ground immediately. Shakib was back up on his feet for a while and physio was making him do some lunges and then asked him for a mini jog, and Shakib shacked his head as soon as he runs a few steps. He left the field with discomfort. Shakib told that his situation will be revealed after 24 hours observation.
“First of all, I need to see how I'll pull up tomorrow. At this point, the groin doesn't look alright but we need to see after 24 hours.”
