Rishabh Pant’s sensational 89 runs in the fourth Test against Australia in Brisbane helped India win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. In addition, he played a tremendous innings of 97 runs in the Sydney Test. He became the top ranked wicketkeeper-batsman and has been promoted to 13th position in the ICC Test rankings after a stellar performance in the Australia series.

He is also the top wicket-keeper-batsman. South Africa's Quinton De Kock is in 15th place. Like Pant, England captain Joe Root has improved in the rankings. Where the Pant-Roots have improved, there has been a decline in Virat Kohli-Babar Azam ranking.
