Bangladesh Ace all-rounder Shakib al Hasan has made a strong comeback to international cricket as Tigers beat West Indies by six wickets in the first ODI at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur Wednesday. The country's poster boy showed a powerful display with the ball (4 for 8 runs), while he scored 19 runs.
Captain Tamim Iqbal and right handed opener Liton Das came to wicket to chase a small target of 123. Both openers made a steady start of 47 runs in the opening stand. From a brilliant delivery of Akeal Hosein, Liton (14) made his way to the pavilion. Newly promoted on number three position Najmul Hossain Shanto failed to impress as he departed with a single run. After that Shakib came to company the skipper with the bat.
Tamim’s (44) steady innings came to end when the team was on 83 for 2, he also missed his half century. Shakib failed to finish the game with wicket-keeping batsman Mushfiqur Rahim (14). Akeal got the big fish and put Mahmudullah (6) to the crease to end the game. As a result, the Tigers are ahead 1-0 in the series.

Earlier, Tamim Iqbal decided to field after winning the toss. The bowlers of Bangladesh have respected the decision of the captain by getting early wickets.
