BCB eyeing to rope broadcaster for T20 League

Bangladesh Cricket Board is looking for a broadcaster to telecast the matches of their upcoming CorporateTwenty20 tournament, said BCB president Nazmul Hasan.
While talking to the reporters at BCB premises on Tuesday, Nazmul said that the board will ask for tenders from interested parties for the rights to broadcast only the Twenty20 tournament, expected to begin in November.
‘We will give it to separate broadcaster, we will call a separate tender,’ Nazmul said.
BCB are without a broadcaster since April 30 this year, when their USD 20.02 million home series contract, which lasted from April 2014-2020, ended and the pandemic situation didn’t allow them to sign with another broadcaster.
BCB will also live-stream all the matches of the upcoming triangular series, set to begin on October 11, just like they streamed both of the two-day practice matches, which ended on Tuesday.
The board was also looking to arrange radio commentary and telecast the final of the triangular series live, said Nazmul.
We will do the live streaming of all the matches. Besides we are trying for radio commentary. The final will be telecast live,’ the BCB boss said.
BCB chief executive officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury said that they are trying to rope in national broadcaster BTV to telecast the final.
‘We are in talks with BTV. As the final is a one-off match, private TV channels might not be interested. In other countries where cricket has resumed, boards took help from the government. So we hope BTV will telecast the match.’
