Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is planning to play three pacers in the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka on hosts’ own yard.
It is learnt from the past that Bangladesh always keep their utmost faith on three pacers while they go to play Test cricket in overseas conditions. But the scenario is a bit different when they play on home soil because they build spin-friendly pitches to tame their opposition sides for which they decrease the number of pacers from three to two or one sometimes.
Pacer Abu Jayed Chowdhury Rahi gradually became the vital cog of the bowling attack with his consistent performance in white-ball cricket. On the other hand, the BCB kept their full faith on the speed of pacer Ebadot Hossain Chowdhury despite being given more runs.

Everybody keeps their vigil eyes on the team selection who will be the third pacer in the Sri Lanka Test series along with Rahi and Ebadot.
There are experienced pacers like Shafiul Islam and Al Amin Hossain in the prowling line-up. Even pacer Mohammad Saifuddin, who is yet to make his Test debut despite playing in ODIs and T20Is, might be seen in the Sri Lanka Test series as the third pacer.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) did not decide yet which pacers will be playing in the three-match Test series.
Regarding the matter of the three pace bowlers, the BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu said that they have a pace-bowling line-up of 4-5 bowlers from where they choose bowlers in the need of the team combination.
“There are some pace bowlers whom we are preparing for Test cricket. There is a list of 4-5 bowlers from where we pick and let them a chance to play,” Minhajul Abedin said.
“Due to the team combination, we allow two pace bowlers in the subcontinent. We think of three pacers when we go out of the conditions. The combination is ready after holding a discussion with the team management,” Nannu told the media.
