McMillan talks Vettori and Domingo before striking the deal with BCB

New Zealand-born Craig McMillan, who recently took charge of the Bangladesh team to look after the Tigers’ batting side for the upcoming Sri Lanka Test series, expressed his excitement to join a team he really admired for.
Newly-appointed batting coach said he inked the short-term deal with Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB for the series after getting a positive vibe from his compatriot Daniel Vettori, who has been working with Tigers as spinning bowling coach and head coach Russell Domingo.
“I did give Dan a call because I know that he is been working with Bangladesh for a period of time and I have seen him around the side and so I was interested to get his experience being with the side and it was a very favorable one,” said Craig McMillan, who gave Vettori a call to know about the players and the team as well before signing the deal with the BCB.
He got to know from Vettori’s words that the Bangladesh team is full of good and talented players, who always turned the tide for the team especially in one-day format.
“He said that it would be a team I would really enjoy working with and there are some very good players and some talented players who work hard and that I will enjoy working with,” McMillan told an English’s leading web portal.
“After that I had a short discussion with Dan and also with Russell [Domingo] as well and I decided to jump at the opportunity and I'm really looking forward to making the tour of Sri Lanka a successful one,” he added.
