Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director and its High Performance (HP) Committee Chairman Naimur Rahman Durjoy said that playing a string of practice matches on overseas conditions against the national team will be helpful and a matter of vast experience for the HP team.
Touring with the national team together in Sri Lanka has been better for the HP, Durjoy said, adding that a conditioning camp for both teams will take place in the country before travelling to the island nation.
“It was scheduled for us to hold a camp for High Performance (HP). We’ve planned to tour in Sri Lanka together with the national team,” said Naimur Rahman Durjoy.

“A conditioning camp for the national and HP team will be held in the country before travelling to Sri Lanka,” Durjoy told the media after coming out from the informal meeting at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur today.
“But the basic camp will take place in Sri Lanka. When the series of the national team will go into their series, we’ll go to our own series against HP,” he added.
HP chairman said the departure date might be changed though they have given a tentative date for departure on September 23.
“The date of departure might be changed but we have given a tentative date of departure. As per it, they are slated to fly for Sri Lanka on September 23,” he said.
“Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is reluctant to involve the players from our teams in their national team’s series. Our HP had a scheduled tour in Sri Lanka. As the contagion situation of the covid-19 is Sri Lanka is a bit good, so I think it’ll be better if we hold our basic camp in Sri Lanka and we could give our practice matches to the national team,” he added.
“The weather is a bit adverse here. Even the corona situation is not good either. Overall Sri Lanka is the better option for us. It’ll be helpful for our national team and HP team as well. It’ll be a good experience for the HP team. They proposed less number of matches for the national team. It’ll be a good experience having played with the national team,” he concluded.
