Three Bangladeshi support staff-Khalil Khan, Bulbul Ahmed and Robiul Karim- looked relieved as eventually they got a chance to take part in the upcoming Indian Premier League.
The tournament, originally scheduled to take place from March 29 to May 24, got suspended earlier due to the corona virus pandemic before BCCI announced recently that the cash rich tournament will be played in UAE from September 19.
The trio, who were sitting idle at home counting their days in all sort of uncertainties looked pumped up to join the party.
Though IPL is a dream too big for many cricketers in Bangladesh, Khalil, a massage therapist, made his way into the dressing room of Chennai Super Kings by his own skills for three seasons after being appointed by their skipper MS Dhoni as he was impressed by his work during the 2016 Asia Cup Twenty20 in Dhaka.

‘’They [Chennai Super Kings] management called me recently and I am expected to travel to UAE on August 10,’’ Khalil told Reporters on Sunday.
We are going to have 14-day quarantine and later will start our training camp,’’ he said.
‘’I am extremely relieved as I am quite happy with my payment considering it help me to run my family well throughout the year,’’ he said, who refused an offer to work for a team in the Canadian Global Twenty20 tournament team on the basis of a promise made by CSK authority and also chose not to work in the last BPL.
Khalil has had a fair run in the IPL with CSK and the Pune franchise for two seasons. But for Bulbul and Karim, this season was their first shot in a big stage like IPL.
The duo got the chance to work for the Sunrisers Hyderabad through Bangladesh National team’s video analyst Shrinivaas Chandrasekaran, who also works for the franchise.
‘’They[ Bulbul and Karim] will join us in the IPL though our travelling date is yet to be finalized,’’ said Shrinivaas.
