Former Bangladesh pace bowling coach Courtney Walsh said that West Indies pacer Kemar Roach is capable of taking 300 Test wickets.
The 32-year old right-arm pace bowler Roach scripted history by becoming the first quickest Caribbean player in 26 years get 200 wickets in Test cricket.
Former West Indies legend Walsh who has 519 Test wicket in his account said the feat Roach reached is a tremendous achievement for his career and he is fit enough to get 300 Test wicket in his bag.
"It is a tremendous achievement for him to get there. It shows hard work and dedication pays off. I think he is fit enough to get to 250 or even 300," Walsh said this during a TV program.
"Just below him is the legendary Wes Hall - he was the daddy, the leader of the pack. When I started they called him 'The Chief' because he was chief wicket-taker. So it is a tremendous list for Roach to be on and he must be feeling chuffed," he added.
Former England skipper Alec Stewart and former medium pace bowler Dominic Cork, also spoke highly about Roach.
"Forty-two per cent of his wickets are top three batsmen, which I understand is the highest percentage of West Indies bowlers with 150 wickets or more. So he is a real new-ball strike bowler," Stewart said.
"When he first played for West Indies he was a quick, aggressive bowler, but now I see him knowing what his plans are," Cork said.
"He can sit in and give nothing away and then crank it up, like Ambrose and Walsh used to do. He has evolved as a fast bowler and will get better and better," Cork added.
Former pace legend of West Indies, Sir Curtly Ambrose was the last to pass 200 Test wickets and Walsh was surprised to find it out.
"I was a bit surprised when I saw the stat as I didn't realise Curtly was the last. We have had some injuries to guys like Jerome Taylor and Fidel Edwards, so guys weren't able to play for as long as they wanted," Walsh added.
