CWAB urged DPL clubs to pay 50 percent payment

Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh [CWAB] has requested Bangladesh Cricket Board to ask concerned authorities to inform the Dhaka Premier League Clubs to repay 50 percent money of the cricketers.
The Dhaka Premier League [DPL] has been suspended after one round was played due to the coronavirus pandemic situation. The cloud of uncertainty regarding the future of the DPL is still looming large as the spread of the deadly virus has increased.
DPL is the bread and butter of many cricketers who are also facing the most distress from financially as well as mentally.

It is learned that many players have not yet received the money due as per the terms of the contract. In Tuesdays online meeting CWAB proposed their decision on behalf of the cricketers.
BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury and Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis [CCDM] chairman Kazi Inam Ahmed were present at the meeting. CWAB's statement said that they had promised to consider the situation.
As per the terms, cricketers are required to pay 50 per cent of their salary at the time of the contract. However, a large part of the cricketers have not yet received it.
"The BCB has been asked to ensure that 50 percent payment is paid to the cricketers in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Premier League," CWAB stated in a statement on Wednesday.
it has also been demanded that if the situation arises where the matches can be restart once again, it should start with the Premier League.
CWAB's President and BCB Director Naimur Rahman, CWAb Vice President and BCB Director Khaled Mahmud, General Secretary Debabrata Pal, Cricketers Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah, Abdur Razzak, Imrul Kayes, Soumya Sarkar, Liton Das, Tushar Imran, Zahurul Islam, Nasir Hossain, Enamul Haque Jr., Shahriar Nafees, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Mosaddek Hossain, Nazmul Hossain Shanto, Afif Hossain and Mohammad Naeem Sheikh were present at the online meeting.
