The coronavirus-infected Mashrafe  Bin Mortaza is responding pretty well but the old Asthma problem is giving him some sufferings, said Dr A B M Abdullah.

A B M Abdullah, one of the country’s most respected doctors and the personal doctor of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, is taking care of Mashrafe since his infection by the dreadful COVID-19 virus.

After contracting the coronavirus, Mashrafe is isolating himself in his home at Dhaka city and has been looked after by his family members.

A B M Abdullah has told a leading bangle newspaper about his patient development in the afternoon.

“I talked with him last night. I think he is very well. I told him to take a complete rest. He has told me about his asthma problem,” Dr Abdullah said.

“I told him not to worry about it. At night time I heard his asthma is in control. If he faces too many difficulties, he may since be admitted to hospital. He is well let’s see what happens,” he added.

Bangladesh Cricket Board  (BCB) President Nazmul Hossain Papon is also in regular touch with former captain Mashrafe Mortaza.

BCB chief medical officer Dr Debashish Chowdhury is also worried about Mashrafe’s asthma problem as told by BCB Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nizamuddin Chowdhury Shujan.

“Last night BCB chief medical officer Debashish Chowdhury sent an SMS to the former Bangladesh captain and told him to call him if he faced any problem. Debashish is worried about the old Asthma disease of Mashrafe,” BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury Shujan said.

“Those who have asthma have to be really careful. His lung is pretty weak. Dr Abdullah Sir is looking after him right now,” he added.

As an athlete, Mashrafe’s immune system is naturally good despite his shortness of breath. This is what makes everyone optimistic.

Doctors normally direct the corona-affected patient to perform an X-ray as a part of the follow-up check-up. Mashrafe has also been directed to do it. His family is communicating at CMH for the X-ray. Mashrafe has no pain in his chest though he has Asthma problem.

Morsalin Bin Mortaza, younger brother of Mashrafe, informed Cricfrenzy that they were thinking of performing a check-up of his brother.

“Bhai is well. The Prime Minister’s personal doctor is taking his news regularly. Normally a follow-up check-up is to perform for the corona-affected people. Doctor also advised us to perform an X-ray of bhai. We’re now communicating at the hospital,” Morsalin Bin Mortaza said.

“Bhut bhai has no pain in his chest. It’s not a test for Asthma,” he added.

Doctors gave directives to perform an X-ray on the chest to know about the respiratory issue. As a part of it, an X-ray might be done for Mashrafe. Mashrafe did his test after suffering from fever two days ago. He was diagnosed with corona positive.

Earlier, Mashrafe’s mother-in-law and his wife Sumona Haque Sumi’s niece (sister’s daughter) Agami had been infected with COVID-19.
