Bangladesh middle-order batsman Mohammad Mithun speaks up about the resumption of cricket by following the hygiene health rules and guidelines.

Mithun thinks that he doesn’t see any problem with cricket being returned to the field by maintaining hygiene rules and guidelines suggested by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Due to the coronavirus crisis, the cricketing world as well as other sports have been shattered into pieces and now those pieces have started arousing little by little. Now, many countries have started their training and started their international schedule after a long break into house arrest.

Teams like Sri Lanka, England, West Indies and Afghanistan have started their training by following the hygiene rules and the guidelines provided by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Bangladesh players have also urged to reopen the stadium for practice sessions but due to the high risk of COVID-19 countries highest authority Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) hasn’t given any specific date about it. Though initially they denied reopening the stadiums but later they agreed but before allowing it they said that they had to take some measures and then they could finalize a date.

While on the other side middle-order batsman Mithun said that he has no problem returning to the game by following the hygiene rules and said that the way getting affected is not desirable the stoppage of the game is not desirable also.

“What I personally think is that I have no problem with cricket being returned by maintaining hygiene rules,” Mohammad Mithun said.

“Of course, the situation in our country is worse than before. But it was not so much worse when the game was declared off. The funny thing is we were all at home when corona was in control. When it starts to grow we are now getting out. It could cause great damage to the country,” Mithun told a Bengali daily.

“However, it is true that the game was stopped because of corona and it will return when the corona situation will get right. But we should see which way corona is taking because if someone gets affected while playing, it will create more problems,” he added.

“Of course, I want to play but by following the hygiene rules. I would never want anyone to be affected. I don’t think there can be anything better if the game is played at this moment by following the hygiene rules. Just as it is not desirable for someone to be affected, it is also not desirable for not to play cricket,” Mithun concluded.
