Former BCB Game Development Manager Nazmul Abedin Faheem has opened up with his desire to start working again as a craftsman of making new cricketers in the Bangladesh Krira Shikha Protishtan (BKSP).

Apart from that, Faheem said he will take the challenge to bring a change into the cricketing culture in the corridor of the institution.

He also said he returned to his current whereabouts not to get enough chance to do what he wanted to do during his stay in Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

“I couldn’t do what I wanted to do at the end of the BCB. It seemed that I was not needed there anymore. That is why I have jumped into the work of BKSP with a new challenge,” Nazmul Abedin was quoted in a Bengali daily.

Country’s senior cricket personal Faheem has worked for Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan [BKSP] for 17 long years. Therefore, he was promoted to work with Bangladesh Cricket Board for 15 years. But he stepped down from his position and returned to his previous address BKSP on September 30, 2019.

Dhaka, Dinajpur, Chittagong, Khulna all the four BKSP cricket activities are now under his supervision where there are hundreds of cricket students along with 25 female cricketers of Dhaka BKSP.

Fahim said he has started to dream of a new day around the cricketers, who are coming out of BKSP, where there are lacks the international standard facilities to make a world-class cricketer.

“BKSP doesn’t have many of the kinds of facilities that are needed for them. At this age, we’re not able to give what India-Pakistan-Sri Lanka cricketers are getting. Skip Australia-England. That’s all I want to make sure gradually,” he said.

“The cricket board has not worked on improving the skills of coaches for the last 10 years. I would like to emphasize this place in BKSP. We want to move forward at the divisional level in selecting cricketers. For example, after five-seven years, when they will play first-class cricket for their respective divisions at that time our cricket education will come in handy for them. I want to create specialized cricketers for Tests, ODIs and T20s,” Faheem added.

Abedin asserted he wants to build a stronger professional structure in BKSP with the help of his all cricketing talent.

“From the outside, it may seem that there are many facilities in BKSP. That’s not right. Still we’ve not a curator of our own. BKSP Director General Brigadier General Rashidul Hasan has given me full freedom of work. We’ve recently hired multiple physios. The curator will also be taken. The decision to bring in specialist coaches from abroad is final. All in all, I want to create a professional structure, the benefits of which BKSP and Bangladesh cricket will get at least for the next 15-20 years,” he added.

“I couldn’t do what I wanted to do at the end of the BCB. I hope I can do that in BKSP. I’ve repeatedly said that the amount of good cricketers that are supposed to come out from here is not coming. We can’t measure just with the success of the Under-19 World Cup. Then the BKSP team was not supposed to go down from the first division to the second division this year. I came back to BKSP with the challenge of bringing about a change in the overall cricket culture,” Faheem signed off.
