Salahuddin defines captaincy of Shakib, Tamim

Salahuddin added that anyone who will lead the national side have to be a performer because unless that is the case it is very difficult to lead the team successfully.

‘’Whoever the captain is in the Bangladesh team, if he can't ultimately give the result of the team, no matter how great the captain is, he will not get any benefit. Whenever a team loses, it is very difficult to handle a team. But if he is a performer, even if the team has bad results, he will be able to retain the control of the team. That's why I would say that if he wants to be a good captain, he has to be a good performer first,’’ said Salahuddin during a live show with Cricfrenzy.com.

Salahuddin also gave his observation about respective captains.

Shakib al Hasan

What I like best in Shakib is that he can make a decision too fast, he didn't delay whether it's right or wrong but he confidently take a decision. He doesn't worry about what will happen later. If a challenging situation arises, he makes a very difficult decision. Not everyone can take it. Everyone will think whether to decide or not. But I think this quality of Shakib is very good. He is very aggressive and has the ability to make decisions or think very quickly. Instead of emotions, he stand everything by reasoning. Sometimes the result can be bad or even good. But ultimately he takes decision very quickly. He has the ability to make instant decisions in the field.

Mashrafee bin Mortaza

In the case of Mashrafe, what I will say is that his player management role is very good. When he's on the field he's the big brother to the players, like an umbrella over their head, the one who will fight for them, the one who will back them, the trust. For all these reasons, everyone likes Mashrafe a lot. This quality sets Mashrafe apart from everyone else. The most advantage of Mashrafe is that Shakib, Tamim, Mushfiqur and Riyad are all of the same age and Mashrafe is older than them. So, ultimately he has the place of reverence. This advantage is very different from the others of Mashrafe.

Mushfiqur Rahim

In the case of Mushfiqur, starting from the discipline of the team, he wants to go in a very well organized way on the field and always wants to plan everything. Don't want to go too far out of the plan. He wants to work according to the plan that has been made. it's also a very good quality and he is very serious about the discipline of the team. A lot of the time it’s a good quality to keep the team together. But in terms of field decisions, I think he could have been a better captain if he had been a little more innovative at times.

Tamim Iqbal

Tamim has many systems to unite the whole team when the tournament starts. He knows very well how to always unite a team and the tasks that are outside the team. How to motivate a player at any time and unite the whole team, he knows it very well. He does a very good job of keeping everyone together. He used to be a hot-headed at first inside the field. Since he has been running the team for a long time now, he could have run the team even if he was not the captain of Comilla and now his tactics have become much better and at the same time I think he can understand a lot now. Before he used to be hot-headed so easily. Once in BPL, Nabi [Mohammad Nabi] was bowling. Tamim was asking me who would do it, sir. I said Nabi from outside, so Nabi giveaway 22-23 runs in that over and Tamim was so angry at that time that he would not talk to me anymore. This year he was very cool, now he doesn't need to hear anything, now he can make his own decision. Along with this improvement, his playing tactics have also improved a lot. Now I would say he has a chance to be a good captain in the future.
