The players formed a fund of Tk 30 lakh on March 25 to help the corona-affected people. After deducting taxes, the figure stands at an estimated Tk 26 lakh. The Tigers donated half of their monthly salaries to raise this relief fund.

A list of 350 BCB employees across the country has been compiled earlier. Where among them there are groundsmen, cleaners, drivers and so on. The cricketers have started to hand over the financial aid to them through that fund.

From this fund, drinking water has been provided to the victims of cyclone Amphan in Shyamnagar, Satkhira. There is a daily supply of potable water to one thousand people. Cricketers are also providing their assistance in their respective areas through the fund.

Though when the fund was created, it was heard that the cricketers’ grants would be deposited in Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s relief fund but in the end cricketers themselves are using it to provide their assistance through it.
