Bangladesh pace bowler Shafiul Islam said that former Bangladesh captain Mashrafee bin Mortaza provided him the confidence to bowl the slower ball that paid off and in the process earned Bangladesh maiden win over England.
Bangladesh has won that match by five runs in 2010 and Shafiul played a huge part by removing Jonathan Trot in the last over to seal the win.

Shafiul has recalled r that story while joining a Facebook live show with Cricfrenzy .com
‘’Ian Bell had a fractured leg in that match. We thought we have won the match after the ninth wicket has fallen. Mashrafe Bhai said Ian bell is coming to bat and Trott was batting in the striking end,’’ said Shafiul.
‘’When Bell came to the wicket I was given the ball to bowl at the last over and I have targeted that I will not be giving a boundary or two runs,’’ he said.
''Mashrafe Bhai has told me at that time we will win or lose the match and bowl what you feel well and you can try your slower ball as well,’’ he said.
‘’I bowled the slower ball and get the wickets of Trot and that was our first win over England in one day international and was a very big thing at that moment'' he concluded.
