Bangladesh former skipper Mashrafee bin Mortaza admitted that he used to blackmail Tamim Iqbal as he was superstitious that he won’t be able to score runs without his bat.
The former national ODI captain Mashrafee sat with current ODI captain Tamim Iqbal in a free chat session on Facebook live on Monday where the two disclosed many secrets.
Tamim asked Mashrafee that why did he blackmail me and get his bat saying thing like if you give me your bat then you will have a century, you give me your bat you will score run. What is the story behind these? Actually, after giving you bat in the last series I have scored two centuries that is also right but what is the connection with the bat?
Mashrafee replied that he used to take it because it used to help him psychologically.
The cost of the bat is BDT 50 thousand. The bat you use to play cost BDT 50 thousand. The price range of the bat Soumya and others use are also quite the same. So I think that why buying a bat for BDT 50 thousand, let's just take it from Tamim.
‘’ Basically, the main reason is I have become sick that I can't play without your bat. I have got mentally sick. I don't like others bat except yours. You have told me many times that okay I'm giving you two bat you give me BDT one lakh, I said okay you will get your BDT one lakh, no problem at first give me the bat,’’ he said.
