BCB decide to donate for corona infected

Bangladesh Cricket Board [BCB] official said that they have decided to donate money to the government fund for combating against ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
On Wednesday, 27 leading cricketers of the country took their respective social media accounts to reveal their decision to donate 15 days of their salary to fight against coronavirus in the country. The cricketers will hand over some Taka 26 lacs to the government as the country passes a tensed situation dealing the coronavirus.
BCB director and media committee chairman Jalal Yunus said that they have decided to donate to the government during this crisis though the amount is yet to be finalized.
‘’We have decided to collect fund on behalf of the board though we are yet to finalize the amount,’’ Jalal told reporters on Thursday.
“We are going through a crisis at the moment and there are many who are trying to contribute for the society and the country from their respective position. BCB has also decided to contribute to the cause. The amount and where to donate the fund will soon be decided,” he said.
BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury said that they will be talking with the government in this regard and will take a decision afterwards as per the instruction of the government.
‘’Look it is not like we will be giving relief. We need to sit with the government and inform them about our intention [about donating for this cause],’’ said Nizamuddin.
‘’We will take a decision on how to implement our plan to donate after knowing the need of the government and taking their inputs in this regard,’’ he said.
BCB is regarded as one of the richest sports federation of the country and according to sources they are likely to donate a huge sum in the coming days.
On Thursday, IEDCR director Meerjady Sabrina Flora in an online press conference said five more people were infected with COVID-19 in Bangladesh on Thursday, raising the total number of infected people to 44.
Among the 44 infected, five earlier died and 11 recovered from the infection, said Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research.
