ICC asked their member countries to participate in the bidding process to host these global tournaments with the deadline ending on March 15.

BCB officials insisted that they made a written application (expression of interest) to be part of the bidding for the T20 WC’s and each country will receive six months of presentation time and based upon that allocation will awarded through following a very transparent  process.

‘’We will try to get two big events. We will not go after the One-Day World Cup because at least 10 venues will be needed to host the ODI World Cup. We don't have that amount of infrastructure,’’ BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury said after confirming they had completed the formalities by producing their express of interest to ICC.

The two Twenty20 World Cups will be in 2024 and 2028 in eight years slot. BCB wants to be the host of the 24 or 28's T20 World Cup. Get at least one of the four tournaments of the ODI and T20 Championship Cup. The Women and Youth World Cup is easily available as part of the ICC's development program. The BCB CEO thinks a tournament can be taken from this too.

ICC CEO Manu Sawhney and Head of Marketing Campbell Jamieson arrived in Dhaka in January to give BCB an idea about the tournaments. They have also learned about the interests and facilities of Bangladesh. Earlier, a company surveyed the cricket market in Bangladesh. All in all, after India, England and Australia, Bangladesh is ahead to host the global tournaments.
