Bangladesh Cricket Board on Wednesday banned all sorts of cricketing activities under their jurisdiction for indefinite period due to coronavirus pandemic.
BCB president Nazmul Hossain informed reporters at the BCB head office in Mirpur after taking part in an impromptu meeting with his board directors.

“We have decided that all of our cricket matches will be off until further notice. The moment we think that the situation is right for playing then we will announce the date. This was our today's meetings main agenda,’’ Nazmul told reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium after coming out from the emergency meeting with his board directors.
‘’Basically you all know what is happening due to coronavirus and for this reason sports event all over the world has been postponed that includes ours too,’’ he said.
‘’We decided to stop DPL after first round (without giving any further directives in this regard) because at that time we decided that we should wait for couple of days and observe the situation and then we will take our final decision.
So in that sense you can say it was kind of a quick decision coming from our end but today we gathered in a meeting and made our final decision about DPL,’’ he said.
‘’Things are changing first and with passing times different opinion is also coming. At first it seemed that the players were eager to play while the clubs were ready for it as well to play,’’ he said.
