Bangladesh T-20 captain Mahmudullah said that out going ODI skipper Mashrafee bin Mortaza backed him during his tough time.
Mahmudullah, who is expected to lead the team in the ICC World T20, said that he want to adapt to those leadership qualities in his approach as captain while he leads Tigers in the upcoming days.
Mahmudullah played under Mashrafee’s leadership for a long time during his career and the right-handed all-rounder thanked Mashrafee for his contribution.

Earlier, Mashrafee stepped down the captaincy following the third ODI against Zimbabwe as he had announced a day before the third ODI that he would be stepping down and was replaced by Tamim Iqbal.
"You must have seen how we spend time together and we have a special bond. He fought for every individual player,’’ Mahmudullah was quoted according to Cricinfo.
‘’I am a big example. I was in deep trouble at one point. He was right next to me. He gave me extraordinary support not only as my captain, but as my brother and friend. I will forever be thankful to him. We spent a lot of time together he said adding that Mashrafee’s focus on the small contributions really made a big difference within the team environment.
"A captain is also a player. A lot of times, you need to perform. Even during his crunch time, he kept building the team. He was always worried about the team. He stood tall," Mahmudullah said. "He always wanted us to perform for each other, enjoy another's performance. He never overlooked small achievements and contributions. He always addressed those small things, and praised whoever had done it. I think it was a great quality,’’ he concluded.
