Bangladesh’s Soumya Sarkar remained the center of discussion for the whole day at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium during the two-match Twenty20 series opener.
Firstly he came into eyes because of his absence of not being into the BCB central contract and now for his excellent match-winning performance against Zimbabwe in the first match of the T20 series on Monday at SBNS.
His unbeaten 62 from 32 balls give Bangladesh a mammoth total of 200 runs where he hit four boundaries and five over boundaries.

Soumya said that he enjoys batting at the top of the order where he returned after being demoted in the lower during the tour of Pakistan in recent times in the T20’s.
"I have always played in the top order but when the team needed me to play 6-7 position I have played that also. Whenever and whatever position I have played I tried to prove myself. Since I came to this position number after a long time and so I tried to catch my own place. That's it,’’ said Soumya.
Soumya played against India in the number three position and scored 30 and 39 runs in two matches.
Then he gets dropped to 6-7 position in the Pakistan tour and was miserable against Pakistan.
He’s a top-order suitable kind of batsman and but then again he is trying to prove himself and get his place marked.
"I have always played in the top order. Many times the team needs to place me where needed. There is nothing different about it. I will try to perform wherever I am placed,’’ he said.
